Accessibility Statement for Breathing Buddy

Breathing Buddy is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including athletes, students, pupils, healthcare staff and public sector employees. We are continuously improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to guarantee an inclusive experience.

1. Compliance Status

The Breathing Buddy mobile application is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard. "Partially compliant" means that while the core visual designs and user interfaces are finalised, specific code-level enhancements are actively being deployed during our current evaluation phase to ensure full, seamless compatibility with assistive technologies.

2. Ongoing Accessibility Enhancements

The following code-level enhancements are being implemented without altering the high-end visual aesthetic of the app:

  • Text and Layout Scaling: Ensuring frontend code text blocks use relative units so layouts scale cleanly if a user increases their device's default font size.

  • Assistive Technology Integration: Mapping all interactive targets, labels, and countdown variables with invisible screen-reader tags (alt-text) for low-vision and blind users.

  • Invisible Touch Targets: Expanding the interactive hit-box padding around minimalist UI buttons to a minimum of 44x44 CSS pixels to satisfy motor-accessibility standards.

  • Animation Safeguards: Ensuring the user-controlled "Pause" toggle halts all visual pacing rings immediately, alongside building structural support for native system "Reduce Motion" settings.

3. Non-Accessible Content

We aim to ensure that no content is entirely inaccessible. Any elements currently failing to meet strict WCAG 2.2 AA contrast metrics (such as muted background tint variants on form fields prior to input validation) are being systematically updated in the app's backend stylesheets to satisfy the 4.5:1 ratio.

4. Preparation of this Statement

This statement was prepared on 10 September 2026. The compliance status of the application was assessed via internal code architecture audits and automated testing tools, including the Google Accessibility Scanner and Apple Accessibility Inspector.

5. Feedback and Contact Information

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Breathing Buddy. If you encounter accessibility barriers or require an alternative format of our content during the trial period, please contact us:
